Happy Haroween!

With the awe-inspiring abundance of aigo (cuteness) in the K-popping world, I feel that I am hard pushed to present you with any top-notch horror frights or teen-terrors (and I mean that purely in the theatrical sense). We occasionally do get to enjoy the gothic delights of our part time princes of darkness, but sadly not often enough if you ask me. To be honest some days there are few things that could thrill me more than vamped-up 2AM or zombified 2PM. Anyways, I have gathered just a few things that made me go more "Ohhh" or "Ahh" than "Wahhhhh", but I guess I will claim a lose and rather vague Halloween theme.

Need I tell you that this is, of course, the party I ventured to last night. Obviously I don't need to mention how, as I entered the room, Taec took great joy in 'sucking my blood' as some form of dramatically enacted initiation-type ceremony.

2NE1 were there too, Dara with her super fierce hair and CL with epically feathered hunch on.

Ki Kwang popped along for a bit after recording too, and did some touching with his hands. Maybe I should say we all played the game where one person wears a blindfold and they must rely on their sense of touch alone to guess who the person posited opposite them is...


Junhyung accompanied him too. Again, he was just working with what he'd got. These boys and their busy schedules!!

Taemin snuck his head round the door. And I should tell you that he won best costume hands down.

I think that these boys may have run out of time with getting ready... I guessed they were going for the sasquatch look? No prizes for this one.

As 2PM were indeed the hosts of the party, they decided to do a special stage once everyone had arrived and was in full swing. Let's just imagine that they were inspired by Daesung, as the carried out their very own mini-performance of Cats.

However, let's just say that some of the other guests thought they could do better. And what is Halloween without thriller anyway?

So with Kwang with his 'American pelvic thrust' and crotch cupping, Taemin with his robot-inspired jerks and limp waves, Chansung and Wooyoung trying to steal back the show and finally Minzy showing us all how it's really done, we got right back on the party track.

And then it started getting late into the night, so the 'entertainment' arrived... Yes they appeared jumping out of the box, and it was a duo performance none of us would have wanted to miss...

Need I say that it was the best party that could have followed on from my birthday, and we danced and danced until our feet could hold us up no more. It was a sleepover though, all the best parties are, so 2PM took the lead once again in getting ready for bed - and they watched over us like this until we fell to sleep.

I worry that I may have failed to describe anything of any real scary substance here whatsoever. I guess it just goes to show that some of the worst fears we all face are in the real world of K, and not the imaginary costumed one. コワイ！

Now that all the hard work is finished, entirely painlessly of course, and you've combated those aesthetic theory terrors (I know Taemin and I have been reading the same thing), how about a brief hiatus. I say, get yourself a nice cup of tea and sit down to this (possibly the most perfect young squire you may ever have the good fortune to consort with). How do you do?


Already it seems, with little to no effort, that hard day of study has been completed. With pretty much no trouble at all (especially with the extra help of the portable typewriter and key texts Taemin kindly brought along). It may even be safe to say that, together, we conquered it!


And with no sweat, not even a hair out of place. Without forgetting that a day cannot be complete with a little exercise - ever so good for the constitution - I suggest we don our jackets and walking sticks and go for, let's say, an evening stroll?

Yikes, MBLAQ. It's not even your comeback hit and I love it. I will rock on, rock on, show you my lips, lips and anything else really! Such a great intro by Thunder - I knew we were on a winner from the synth alone, but then "This is how we do.." - no "it", too cool for school. Reminds me of T.O.P's, "I wish it weren't so." In fact, the whole intro is super:

Take some advice for your comrades, 2PM - this is how we do it! 2AM, spot on my loves. Seasonal yet sensational and sexy. It is definitely Saint o'clock - just look at those collarbones on JinSwoon!! There is not a swatch of tacky bleach in sight, no Dame Edna eye shadow, and merely the classiest of outfits. This is what K-pop should be! Seulong is brooding, Kwon is quite the young Victorian gent, and I like Changmin's crop (very Minho - SHINee).

You may think I'm being too harsh, but I assure you I am not. 2PM must learn. If they don't there's nothing I can do...

Take me at my word 2PM! You are walking a fine line. If it wasn't for so much Junho in shot in the MV then you'd be in much bigger trouble!! Just look at this live performance! Chansung's slick Malfoy hair, Nickhun's ridiculously vile hairband! The dancing is a ridonkulous take on the 'spotty dog' in parts, and the song is fundamentally just not all that. Thank god Junho is taking up the slack. And yes Alice, I like his glove too.

Really though, I am displacing my most intense and complex angers on these poor unfortunate souls when, in all honesty, this Music Core airing is not my main concern. What is at the forefront of my disturbed mind is the witch hunt is now on for whoever the crazed nunas are who did this to my beloved 2PM!

Seriously, what a hella headbomb travesty! Right now I am so mad that I can barely express in words my honestly heartbroken reaction to their fall from grace. Talk about some fresh hell Bunny! They look like old decrepit men in semi drag, and not in a good way but in the very worst way. Seriously boys, what the hell? You need to learn to say "NO!" to these nunas - even you yourselves must realise this is not a good look. Your last comeback was such a happy one, and now, dare I say it, I already want you to Go Away! In the words of Eli, You Make Me Pissed Off. And I'm not the only one who is mad - everyone over at omona seems to agree with me. What you should mostly be in fear of though is my very own Bunny unnie. Maybe this time it is irreparable, I just don't know. (And our dearest friend Alice, so new to the world of K, is no doubt experiencing the pains of a devoted nuna way too early on in the game - you were her favourite 2PM!) I have read that there would be more Junho in this MV and, you know what, I'm not even sure that I want more Junho at this rate. He may have come off the best out of this, along with Junsu, but that is not the point. How can these blasphemous words even come forth from me, why has it come to this?!

Let's just leave it with the fact that I am bracing myself for the 12th October, the final blow of the full MV.

Imaginary weekend plans

Age is just a number but 180 (cm tall or more) always sounds great to me.

CN Blue's Jonghyun & Minhyuk dressed up in their finest and just begging to whisk us away for dinner and dancing.  No doubt they will have also prepared a secret performance, guitar and drum duet, on a disused bandstand lit up with twinkling fairy lights and the moonlight.

This week you have done me so proud.

You started off with the suited and booted teaser image, and I will fully admit that you had Bunny and I a little worried. Not like you'd done anything bad or terrible, just that you hadn't really done yourselves justice. And you've had time, plenty of time to think up something a little more exciting than a suit. And you know what suit says, don't you? Suit says low key and conservative, it says "I'm not dancing; I'm concentrating upon my vocals". And we all know what this means - a one way ticket to balladsville. Usually I'd say you can't really go wrong in a suit, but for some reason, you did a little, sorry. I guess the suits can come back out later, post-comeback week, when we've all calmed down a little, or you are trying to calm us.

Soohyun babes, you are just not meant to be a blonde. I call time out on that I'm afraid.

However, there were song titles to accompany this image, and Rock Ya Body certainly gave me some hope, as did the lines, "Oppa hates you!" Call me a terrible and a bad feminist, do, but this vaguely sadistic line got me riled indeed, and in the best possible way.

And then you got down to business, just like I'd hoped you would, and you hit me with this:

Excellent work, boys! I love industrial chic, and you know how well black suits you from the Man Man Ha Ni video! You are definitely learning. And yes Eli, we are both, Bunny and I, very happy to see that your full fringe beauty has been restored. No complaints here, none at all!

It must be said here that I feel as though Kiseop to U-KISS is the modern day Joe Dellesandro to Andy Warhol's Factory: it's not really for your creative skill that you are here. It's not your fault babes, it isn't; you were born with this lovely visage and body, and we are going to make darn well sure that everyone knows it. I don't doubt for a second that you have the voice of an angel, but it just so happens that you have something even more beautiful that outshines it. You may have only had one line is Man Man Ha Ni, but yours are the close ups I remember best (alongside those of Dongho, naturally).
Having been a K-pop fanatic for rather a little while now, I don't know why I didn't trust my instinct enough to know that these clothes would surely be the ones they will wear for promotions. This said, you can imagine my delight at the greeting video for Japan and the opening of their blog - the clothes in action. And when I say "in action", I mostly mean the way Kiseop's "shirt", complete with giant inverse V, clings to his body and moves so well with him. He evidently is not spared by the new rules and regulations of the K-pop stage... At least you are not the only one, Ki Kwang has also been dressed accordingly this week.

I hope you are following that, up until now, I have only good things to say. I have been waiting for the songs with baited breath. Will they live up to the industrial chic? Will Oppa really hate me? This week, just watching, and waiting...

Tonight it finally paid off and the songs are here, they arrived (or at least four did and the rest with intro), and my god you have made me happy!! After finishing My Girlfriend is a Gumiho last night I didn't think I would ever be cheered again, but I was wrong. Every single one of the four I have heard are club bangers, and I think that even T.O.P, god bless his mind body and soul, would agree. I am so happy I could kiss you (maybe even all of you).

Shut Up is giving me everything I need for a title track! I feel like dancing around and throwing my arms about violently right up until the break down kicks in, and then the throwing of shapes starts. It's just fab, everything, the whole thing. Just as the sweat get's too much, and it does, there are some sweet vocals to lower the pulse just enough to continue. I am so happy with this - hardcore electro arrangements all the way - well done boys, really well done. I just know I'm going to lose my shit entirely once there is a whole video to accompany, bloody faces and all.

Is it just me, or is there some type of sauna-esque feel to the blue lit room?! Because I can feel the heat in that room!

Light It Up is also amazing, possibly one step better than the last track!! It makes me feel as though I'm at some euphoric rave, and I may as well be on all the stimulant substances available to me - when you sing "up and down, all around" my heart really does go "boom boom boom". There is something very MBLAQ about this, and I mean that in the best possible way, not the plagiarism way.

Rock 'Ya Body starts a little slower, but really provides little respite to the party once it gets going. I really am clapping to this, all the way! So chic. Singing "Baby jus' show me what you got" with some type of snake charming tune underlaying it - why did no one ever think of doing this before. You are just so damned international.

Avatar is the hard dance hit for sure. The intro is so serious and then it drops into some type of avant-garde beat. I am so checking your style, 100 percent. The casio keyboard had me at middle C! You really do have my mind, it's yours.

Boys, I don't know which numbers you think you are going to perform in those album cover suits, but right now you could pretty much do anything and I would be ecstatic.

He's a bad boy I know, but here I go again OH NO!..

I can't believe i've been provoked into yet another kpop haircut upset rant, i'll most likely regret it, but here goes.....

2PM's "beastly rapper" OK Taecyeon, 6 foot of muscle and (for lack of a better word) "adorkableness" all rolled into one.  I have made it pretty clear to most people that Taec holds a special place in my heart, I'm not sure if its his endearingly giant ears or his huge dazzling teeth but this guy made it into that higher level cut of crushes, where usually the basic concensus is that they can do no wrong, dating scandal, bad career move, wardrobe disasters, all is forgiven for the lucky few who have delighted me enough to receive my unwavering crushing love, for those less fortunate they have to walk the treacherous tightrope of my fickle adoration and risk me cutting all ties as the slightest sign of disappointment (see Eli and my disgust as his previous hair terror,  ironically, Eli has cemented himself back in my good books this week, he's come a long way since then...).  So Taecyeon, he would have to do something really really awful to earn my scathing wrath of disgust...

Look at this handsome man, this picture uploaded on his personal twitter, looks to be at the hair salon perhaps, maybe they've just finished a nice trim of that BEAUTIFUL FRINGE OF PERFECTION, that's what I thought ...

A few days pass by and then... it happened, I am met with this. Pay attention to the tall man in a beanie hat who double backflips across the stage, and oh! his hat falls off midway!! and OH!!!! OH!!!.....

I have never had a problem with anything before this, I love the bobble hat and harry potter glasses combo, I love the bed hair and pink mickey mouse shorts combo, I even love "fashion terrorist Taec" in his red baseball cap, yellow t-shirt and orange trousers.  I didn't mind that they shaved ridiculous lines into your eyebrows that time, I can look back fondly on your debut days with a sporty teenager ski life shaved sides do, I even like all those hilarious pre debut pics of you in your NON HORNRIM specs, really you could do no wrong! and Super short with spock fringe is a great look! but to be so short, with NO FRINGE and then that revolting home dye job blonde. I don't know what to feel anymore.

to sum it up, and I direct this to whoever is responsible for this HAIR TERROR, I will quote from 2PM - I HATE YOU:
