It's not the start of 2011, it's not coming up to Lunar New Year (which will be February 3rd 2011), the academic new year started last month, and it's no anniversary of any BEAST achievements to my knowledge, as both their first mini-album and live debuts were made in October last year. Strange, no?
The calendar is for 2010m and was made for B2UTY, the official BEAST fan club. Could it just be then that die hard fans never care when a calendar comes out, even if it is one, two or even four months late? I kind of like this idea, and think I will just go along with this reasoning until I am thus corrected.
Anyways, with this conundrum now open for discussion, without further ado let's peruse these images I talk of:
Jun Hyung, look how handsome you are here with your (own) mouth watering poise. It's as if you've just finished up one of your sweet raps...and are feeling rather pensive. And your hair sweeps in the same direction as the blowing corns in the background - you are quite the chap, and I mean this in the very best way possible.
Hyun Seung, you look different, did you change your hair? I think I like it. Maybe the suit is not ideal, the string vest(?), but I guess it just about works here, maybe because of your sullen shadowed eyes working it under the fringe. Whoever said you had an inexpressive face.
Gi Kwang, need I tell you how truly handsome you are. Those wonderfully thick slightly parted lips that steal a heart within seconds, and your gentle side glance into the camera. My oh my. This is not even to mention your 'naturally' windswept do, which flops gently into your eyes, giving Hyung's a run for its money.
Leader Doo Joon, an interesting choice, I guess. I'm not going to criticise you too harshly, because it's hardly as if you just gave yourself silver hair or don't look hot or anything. But it's not you best. I'd like to see more of your face, please. And also, just to let you know, your hXc kid look was definitely b2st, in my humble opinion - the beads are not.
Doong Woon, there is certainly some rough and tumble going with this image, and you are working it well. Who would ever know that you are the maknae of the group... though maybe the leopard print tie does give something away.
Yo Seob. Wow, you did good. For once, I'm not going to tell you that you are a terror. You made it work, and I'm happy. You really did earn your place on the calendar. It may be the soft focus combined with the bleached treatment of the photo, or the blue glow that is resonating on your face from the jacket you're sporting, but whatever it is, you should stick with it.I hope you don't have to be a member of the official fan club to acquire it.

The calendar release timing is somewhat unusual but I suppose in the realm of k-pop merch anything goes, I'm always surprised they don't release more absurd and useless items just to test the willingness of fangirls to hand over their cash. 2PM egg cosies, if they existed would surely be snapped out without question. To be honest they could probably release this calendar without any dates printed in it and people would still want it just to sroke their printed faces. Even I myself have succumbed, I am the owner of a now (only just) out of date 2009/2010 Arashi calender with enormous glossy prints and accompanying school diary which is basically just an excuse for a photo book, and im not complaining.
I can't thank you enough for educating me in Beast, I was really struggling to learn some of their names, but this has helped no end, although now my favourites are in flux.
I've always liked Jun Hyung (particularly when he's sporting some hip non prescription specs) but throughout the Shock promotions I found the hair was shaved too short, with not enough fringe so i'm very happy this situation seems to be improving.
Is Gi Kwang the one who's always wearing the lace up crotch slacks and the midriff bearing zipper top? poor dear.. and whose the one thats a bit sickly at the moment, they thought it was his appendix but it was some kind of "condition" worsened by the stage clothes? My thoughts fell to lace up crotch immediately (as they so often do..)
Doo Joon, your favourite? He looks completely different from this angle, in fact his striking jaw line is making me pay him some attention. Please show me photo evidence of this hXc kid look, sounds dreamy. Although the beads may be troubling, surely you can't be disappointed with the no clothes under a jacket concept?? That's how i'd expect all my Korean pop boyfriends to roll...
formally I think I liked Dong woon, although I cant be sure it was him,, but this picture is throwing me off, also could I really have fallen for a Maknae?? this never happens.
As for ice white terror, he really looks 150% better any time he forgoes smiling... its sad but true.
Please keep any Beast knowledge coming, I have a bit of a gap in my K world here...

Congratulations on your callendar. It's probably better that it's out of date - it wont get ruined. You're lucky I wrote you that letter on the Big Bang paper, as the rest of the things haven't even left their wrappers outside of my pawing time. It's stupid, but even things that are useful and can be used I am reluctant to utilse. What if they run out??
I'm glad that I could be of assistance for once. It is usually you who is teaching me all that there is to know. I've developed a real love for BEAST ever since they did so good at having a comeback. Really before I couldn't have cared less, but they earned the love that they now have.
And yes, Gi Kwang is always the one in the lace up crotch trousers with the partly revealed abdomen. He is Kayleigh's favourite. On occasion he is mine too. But if I get over my mere shallowness and look into what I know about them a little more, Doo Joon won my heart a little on HBM. And you know I always have a thing about the badass rappers, which is where Jun Hyung comes in. His hair usually helps him along, though of late it has hampered him a little - the trending story of late.
It certainly sounds like if there a sickly member with abdomen problems it should be Kwang, but I don't actually know. It's the first i've heard.
I'm glad you are looking a little harder at Doo Joon. He is a nice boy. And I will endeavour to relocated the hXc I so lovingly cited. I'm not sure if I saved it before!? Sorry. As for jackets alone covering the torso, though I do find it a little laughable, it is entirely endearing.
I'm interested that Dong Woon may have been who you were interested in..interesting choice.
Seon (ice white terror), pronounced a little like slug (lol, as kayleigh pointed out) is indeed safest when bereft of smile. As he matures maybe he will go more this way.

The Arashi diary/photo book is a beautiful forever treasured piece of art whereas the super gloss large format calendar contains some of the most alarming arashi imagery i've ever seen (not in a good way), one day when you're fully prepared, ill show you what I mean... until then its safer in its box.
I dont blame you for using your good carefully, I feel honored that you broke open the Big Bang pad to write to me!! I feel the same way with stickers (like the ones that came with bromide) to use or not to use...
back to B2st... I'm pretty sure at least 3 of them get my attention. Their comeback really was brilliant, whats odd is Mystery (their previous) was also a good song but we would have been far too busy with MBLAQ's debut to notice.

I'm slightly worried i've embarrassed myself for potentially liking Dong Woon... you say "interested" and "interesting" is this a good or bad thing? have I made a huge mistake??? Surely the only comedy choice here is the little slug? and I don't want to be mean to him, I'm sure he is probably adorable, I just cant even let him into the runnings for a contender for my heart when I can't get past the fact he looks like a cartoon character. That being said, look how far for animated character look-a-like SHINee Jonghyun has come ....
Wow, good job. Is that cheap or expensive though?? It seems that I am unable to put a price on K-pop these days. And if you were to buy one, you may as well buy the whole set, right? I guess that's maybe that decided then.
Sorry, I didn't read that the book and calendar were separate, I should have read more closely. I thought it was that the calendar was so good it's basically a photo book. When you say the calendar is bad, you do know that I am now expecting feathered hair and sparkles/tassles galore. I don't know if I'll ever really be able to dig that, I'll warn to now.
Just so you know, you are always worth using BB paper for. No question. And, yes, my Bromide sickers are still unused as of yet.

I'm sure Dong Woon isn't a terrible mistake or anything, he's just not on my list really. I've not got anything on him, no dark past or anything, don't worry. Like who you like, and don't worry about me. And as for slugworth, I don't want to be mean either, but he really doesn't even contend. I have to whittle them down somehow, and he was whittled out.

I have no rational sense as to what is cheap or expensive these days, I can only judge whether or not a purchase is worth it based on the strength of the yearning in my heart. What worries me is that I don't think I could choose just one mug?? The full set would be ideal, maybe I could limit myself to Taec and Chan, after all Chansung is Ben's favourite so i'm sure he'd be happy to have a cup of tea from Chansung's mug of kisses.... this is all sounding a bit wrong. I still cant decide.
The Arashi calendar is probably far more tasteless than all the sparkles, tassles and feathered hair you could ever imagine. Even though I could link you to a picture, its so disturbing I'm just going to describe it instead: awkward shirtless Sho pouting in pink hipster jeans mid pole dance with dollars stuff in his waistband and a jaunty pink fedora hat and some sparkles. Honestly I was shocked that this calander came with a SCHOOL diary!!
